I want this website, sj.mcharlesworth.fr, to be accessible and usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies or need to adjust the way content is presented.

Accessibility approach

The site is designed with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA as a target. The website has not yet undergone a comprehensive accessibility audit, and no claim of formal WCAG conformance is made at this stage.

The site includes a locally hosted accessibility widget offering optional adjustments such as font size, line and letter spacing, contrast, readable fonts, a dyslexia-friendly font, reading aids, text magnification and speech controls. These are optional aids, not a substitute for accessible page structure or for assistive technology.

You can also use your browser’s built-in zoom, reading and accessibility settings, and assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard navigation.

Known limitations

Some pages or materials may not work equally well for all visitors. Areas that may require further review include:

  • Historical content and linked PDF documents, which may vary in their accessibility.
  • Embedded or third-party content over which I have limited control.
  • Browser-dependent features such as speech synthesis and voice recognition. Voice recognition may require an online service depending on your browser.
  • Differences in how text styling, contrast preferences or reading aids interact with particular devices and browsers.

These points describe areas for continued review, rather than a completed list of confirmed accessibility failures. Improvements are being made as issues are identified.
